In TronWallet’s most comprehensive update to date, the Getty/IO team is revealing full support for both the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH) and all ERC20 tokens based on the Ethereum blockchain. TronWallet users will now be able to hold, send and receive ETH and all Ethereum based tokens seamlessly and securely in their mobile crypto wallet.
Adding support for the Ethereum blockchain is a huge milestone for TronWallet and a major step in the wallet’s roadmap to become a fully-fledged multi-cryptocurrency wallet — the goal is to integrate all the top cryptocurrencies and major blockchains into the wallet, with more than 10 major coins being introduced in Q2 alone.
As TronWallet just surpassed the milestone of 190,000 downloads worldwide, with an average of 12k daily active users (DAU) and 50k monthly active users (MAU), the addition of ETH means that TronWallet now supports three major blockchains, namely TRON, Bitcoin and Ethereum.
It is important for us at Getty/IO and TronWallet to serve as a bridge between the TRON and Ethereum communities, the two chains’ users and the countless promising projects on both networks. The introduction of Ethereum is, therefore, a testimony to our intention to bring the TRON and Ethereum blockchains closer together in pursuit of interoperability between TRX and ETH-based projects.
We strongly believe in cross-chain interoperability, particularly for Smart Contract and Dapp platforms such as Ethereum and TRON, and that cooperating across borders in the cryptocurrency space is essential for the healthy growth of the blockchain industry and Dapp ecosystem as a whole. We aim to play a major role in achieving this.
By introducing support for Ethereum and ETH-based tokens into the wallet, we further invite a whole new set of users numbering in the millions. Ethereum is a major driver in the cryptocurrency space with a market capitalization of 15 billion USD, over 91 million unique wallet addresses, 248,974 tokens, and 2,275 Dapps.
Many innovative projects in DeFi, gaming, exchanges, identity, payments and much more are built on the Ethereum blockchain and our next step is to integrate all Ethereum-based Dapps into our built-in Dapp Browser for seamless, secure and simple use for our current and new users alike.
New ETH Swap pairs to/from TRX, BTC & USDT
With the new Update 3.2, ETH Swap pairs have also been introduced in our built-in Swap tool. The swap pairs available for ETH are coupled with TRON, Bitcoin and USDT, and these include both buy and sell as follows: ETH/TRX and TRX/ETH; ETH/BTC and BTC/ETH; ETH/USDT and USDT/ETH.
TronWallet’s Swap tool is a feature introduced at the beginning of 2020 on the mobile iOS and Android apps and has grown exponentially in both volume and coins/tokens available for exchange. The Swap is seamless, direct, safe and saves time for our users as they don’t need to use a centralized exchange to input sell or buy orders.
Additionally, storing your crypto on your TronWallet, where you truly own your keys and your crypto, while keeping your funds off centralized exchanges eliminates the possibility of hacks and losing your coins to malicious actors on centralized exchanges, which are too often targeted by hackers.
USD Value Send Option
We have also introduced a simpler and more straightforward way for our users to send a preferred USD value when conducting transactions from their TronWallet. Simply input the USD value you wish to send and in which cryptocurrency, and the wallet will automatically convert that USD value to the correct amount in the coin or token being sent.
New Simplified Create/Restore Account Flow
We are also introducing a new simplified process for creating new wallets and restoring old accounts, all to improve the user experience for our users globally. All the 10 new features, 7 improvements and 27 bug fixes included in this upgrade are listed in the Update 3.2 Release Notes’ graphic below. Update your wallet today by clicking here.
TronWallet’s Updated Roadmap 2020
Despite the current global economic downturn as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, TronWallet and the Getty/IO team is accelerating our development and putting even more resources to achieve our goals and milestones.
Having already integrated Ethereum and ERC20 token support on the mobile app as our first act of Q2 2020, the next step will be to add support for Ethereum based Dapps in our Dapp Browser, in addition to numerous seamless payment options in the Dapp Browser. Landscape Mode is currently being optimized and will be included in the next update.
Even more exciting is our upcoming rebrand, which is aimed at attracting a whole new set of users from all blockchains and cementing our position as a leader in Dapps, Dapp Browser speed, wallet security, ease-of-use, and scalability. Coupled with the rebrand, we will be doing our part in removing the tribalism prevalent in today’s crypto industry. Such division between blockchain communities has had a negative impact on innovation, cross-chain cooperation and growth, something we aim to change and replace with cooperation, partnerships and cross-chain integration.
Along with the rebrand comes a brand new website, both in architecture, services provided and design. TronWallet’s Q2 2020 is packed with exciting new developments, such as Samsung Blockchain Keystore integration, the addition of over 10 major cryptocurrencies into the wallet, an innovative Stable Bitcoin (BTCD) and a brand new secure multi-chain wallet core mechanism. Stay tuned for our future announcements as we continue our mission to build a simpler, faster and smarter financial future for all to enjoy globally through the use of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
